Today is ANZAC Day

ANZAC means a member of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps during World War I.
Unfortunately our Cro grand grand fathers suffered a lot as members of Austro-Hungarian Army but nobody remembers them.

Pigeon Meat

Many years ago when there was not enough food in EU my neighbors in my hometown have eaten pigeons instead of chicken. Nothing new cos in another (my x wife's) town pigeons are an excellent food grown up at home just for meat. We were buying pigeons meat for our children at market. I have never tried it. But these NZ pigeons are really flashy.

Detail from Friends House

Yesterday I had an excellent Gregorian Easter dinner in friends house. It was what I saw there - a mask from a Pacific island in their dining room bought at garage sale. Very nice!

Utrillo and Atget

Maurice Utrillo, born Maurice Valadon, (26 December 1883 - 5 November 1955) was a French painter who specialized in cityscapes. Born in the Montmartre quarter of Paris, France, Utrillo is one of the few famous painters of Montmartre who were born there.
There was collaboration between him and famous French photographer Eugène Atget (February 12, 1857 – August 4, 1927) noted for his photographs documenting the architecture and street scenes of Paris

Utrillo used sometimes Atget’s photos as an idea and samples to make his paintings.
